about

Greetings everyone,

Here are a few words about the circumstances surrounding this music and how it came to be. As with all things in March 2020 it's begins with the changes brought about by the Coronvirus Pqndemic that we're all experiencing.

Once we were confronted with the reality of actual isolation we asked each what can we do and the first thing that came to mind was make some spontaneous music, in the moment without over complicating things. Just tap into the joy of creating and have some fun.

Obviously, the situation that we are all in was present in our minds, but the notion of rising above it all and the desire to create something for people who have enjoyed and supported our music before, was the motivating force.

First and foremost, we have had fun creating this music in our shared isolation. Bouncing ideas between ourselves quickly and going with the music that felt most satisfying in the moment. Making music that will let the listener drift away in a sea of thoughts and sounds, musical spaces and journeys to transport us all above the often harsh reality of the here and now.

As Isolated Psychedelicists we want to connect with similar folk, music lovers who enjoy exploration, contemplation and imagination, the unusual, the inspiring and the groovy psychedelic sounds of our weirdest imaginings! No borders, genres or barriers, just joy dor the sake of joy.

Ordinarily, we are committed to vinyl releases and the artefacts that delight serious collectors. This is the first time that we have created a digital-only series, but the situation suits and it's the easiest and quickest way for us to share the music that's given us pleasure at these challenging times.

It is our desire to continue creating in this way for as long as we are asked to remain in one place to assist society in managing this situation. We are really proud of the music we've created and we genuinely hope that it will spread some joy and pleasure to those who give it some time. We invite you to enjoy The Sounds From The Isolation Zone and the strange paths it leads us down.

The 'Name What You Would Like To Name It' track titles

We'd like to offer the listener the opportunity to 'Name what you would like" for these track titles. We have provided possible options, you can allow that to influence you or you can listen and decide on names of your own divination. We do, after all, have time on our hands and there is enormous pleasure to be had from playing with words and ideas.

Most of the tracks here have titles that take the form of a question. We'd encourage you to reconfigure and fiddle with these words to please, amuse or inspire yourselves.

For instance the track

Can Anything Ever Really Be Invisible?

could become

Will Everything Nearly Always Be Risible?

or

Can We Ever Really Predict The Past?

can pose the question

Can We Only Really Predict The Past?

The Plague Doctor Will See You Now

becomes

The Vague Otter Will Free You Now

The possibilities are endless fun, all we have to do is think. At times like this, with so much time on our hands, all we have to do is think, and, if we want to give you possible diversions and distractions, all we have to do is think.

We created this music by enjoying the playfulness of playing and we want to pass that pleasure on and start streams of consciousness to feed our minds through this shared isolation.

If you come up with titles that please you, then post them as a comment, we'd love to see them.

Cheers and Stay Safe
