The Fellowship Of Hallucinatory Voyagers
The Imaginary Gallery II
Well here we are almost twelve months since we unleashed our 'The Imaginary Gallery' on the world in 2020
It's been a very challenging two years for most musicians, keeping financially solvent has been a constant juggling act, Sendelica have managed only two Festival live shows in the last 18 months, but the real hardships have still been in keeping our minds and souls occupied with projects. I'm still missing the collaborations of working face to face with people, the adrenaline and creative rushes that they bring to our lives.
Pushing through the barriers of isolation is what music does and this project in particular has certainly engaged my brain cells. The premise again was simple, I gave five pieces of music to the painter Rhiannon Jones, she listened to them and immersed herself in the music while she painted five oil paintings. Then the process was reversed and she sent me five paintings to write music too.
Perhaps it's due to all these lock downs and quiet isolations that the project certainly , yet again, took on a quite tranquil feeling with lots of paintings and tracks referencing the sea and the woodland expanses that surround both Rhiannons and my own home towns.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
